Prime Video has officially announced Spring Fever, a vibrant new Korean romance-comedy series led by Ahn Bo Hyun and Lee Joo Been.
The series is set to premiere on January 5, dropping two episodes weekly across more than 240 countries and territories, exclusively on Prime Video.
Directed by Park Won-gook and written by Kim Ah-jeong, Spring Fever follows the unexpected romance between Yoon Bom (Lee Joo-been), a reserved high school teacher with a frosty exterior, and Sun Jae-gyu (Ahn Bo-hyun), a fiery, unpredictable man who suddenly disrupts the peace of a small village. Their clashing personalities ignite a warm, slow-burning love story that promises charm and plenty of comedic sparks.
The series features a powerhouse cast—Ahn Bo Hyun (Flex x Cop, See You in My 19th Life, Yumi’s Cells), Lee Joo Been (The Divorce Insurance, Twelve, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area), Cha Seo Won, Cho Jun Young, Lee Jae In, Jin Kyung, and Bae Jung-nam—making Spring Fever one of the most anticipated titles of 2025. The project also marks the exciting return of director Park Won-gook, celebrated for his global hit Marry My Husband.
Script Reading Hints at Rom-Com Magic
Prime Video released photos from the script reading, capturing the cast and production team diving into their roles. Present were director Park Won-gook, writer Kim Ah-jeong, and the full lineup of stars.
Ahn Bo-hyun fully embraced Sun Jae-gyu, the lovable troublemaker who shakes up the quiet town and serves as uncle to Sun Han-gyul (Cho Jun-young). His expressive delivery, natural humor, and Busan dialect kept the room laughing.
Lee Joo-been perfectly embodied Yoon Bom, the mysterious teacher who draws the villagers’ curiosity. Her performance highlighted the character’s subtle warmth beneath a cool personality. Her chemistry with Ahn Bo-hyun stood out instantly—hinting at a rom-com pairing viewers will root for.
Cha Seo-won also impressed as Choi I-jun, a sharp lawyer caught between Bom and Jae-gyu. Cho Jun-young charmed as top student Sun Han-gyul, while Lee Jae-in portrayed Choi Se-jin, the outspoken rival who brands herself an anti-fan. Their youthful tension adds an energetic layer to the drama.
The veteran supporting cast—including Jin Kyung, Bae Jung-nam, Kim Beong-choun, Oh Man-seok, and Jung Young-ki—promises plenty of humor and standout moments.
Cast Teases What Makes “Spring Fever” Special
Ahn Bo-hyun shared his excitement: “These characters have a style and energy I’ve never seen before. The script was so fun, and I was drawn to playing an uncle for the first time while using dialect. I think viewers are going to enjoy a drama filled with laughter.”
Lee Joo-been added, “The beautiful scenery, refreshing village atmosphere, and witty humor are huge highlights. Not just Jae-gyu and Bom—there’s fantastic chemistry between the students and teachers, too. Plus, there’s a hidden character later on that viewers will love discovering.”
Blending heart-fluttering moments, quirky village antics, and youthful school-life stories, Spring Fever delivers a romantic comedy experience designed to charm audiences of all ages. The series premieres January 5, with new episodes every Monday and Tuesday.
Spring Fever joins Prime Video’s growing library of global titles, including LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines, Drag Den with Manila Luzon, Linlang, and hit Korean series such as Marry My Husband, GOOD BOY, Head Over Heels, and Surely Tomorrow.
