“Connection” Puts Forward Character Posters of Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do

From unique solo posters and character stills, Connection keeps hyping interest for its upcoming premiere.

The series is written by writer Lee Hyun of Diary of a Prosecutor fame, and director Kim Moon-kyo, who was recognized for his delicate and detailed directing skills in Trolley and Lovers of the Red Sky, is drawing attention by working together.

In the drama, Ji Sung plays the role of Inspector Jang Jae-kyung of the narcotics team at Anhyeon Police Station, who receives the respect of juniors and the trust of seniors within the police force. He follows the mantra “Success without connections and support has no weaknesses”. Thus, he keeps his distance from friendships, police work, and family by staying away from things that he thinks are dangerous. He is a person who is passionate about police work without any weaknesses and has the conviction to always stick to her principles.

Portraying Oh Yun-jin, an opinionated and outspoken reporter in the social affairs department of Anhyun Economic Daily is Jeon Mi Do. She is a Joan of Arc-like character who rushes at old-fashioned comments regardless of their status, and because she is someone who can’t ignore anything that isn’t right, she was unfairly dismissed from her previous job. It was not easy for her to return to work or change jobs, so after returning to Anhyeon City, she decided to live with the motto “Friendship is Money”.

In addition, Connection is raising expectations that talented actors such as Kwon Yul and Kim Kyung Nam, who have declared unprecedented transformations, will join the lead cast.

The released solo posters realistically capture the polar expressions of the lead stars. Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do continue to transform as if they have swapped faces.

Jang Jae-kyung, who was forcibly addicted to drugs by someone, shows both strength and anxiety, foreshadowing a destructive power. He draws attention by showing a hazy appearance with a raised hand saluting and an anxious gaze under the subtitle, “I am a police officer who catches drugs. I am not a police officer who catches drugs.” Attention is being paid to Ji Sung’s shocking transformation as Jang Jae-kyung, who hints at a double life.

In addition, Jeon Mi Do portrays the brightness and frustration of Oh Yun-jin, a reporter for Anhyeon Economic Daily, who is a Joan of Arc in the journalistic world who rushes at old-fashioned remarks regardless of their status, and who has gone through turbulence of time and come to realize that money is everything.

Oh Yun-jin brightly smiles when wearing earphones next to the subtitle, “That’s the major league. This guy’s life is always in the minors.” But when a thunderbolt of money falls, her face loses vitality and turns into a miserable face, creating a feeling of intrigue.

Curiosity is growing about the narrative of Connection that Oh Yun-jin and Jang Jae-kyung, who are in a ‘big battle of confusion will create.

Meanwhile, SBS’ new Friday-Saturday drama Connection will premiere at 10 PM on Friday, May 24, 2024.
