Welcome To Samdalri Episodes 5 and 6 Highlights
Sam-dal emancipates herself from the guilt she carries in the 3rd week of Welcome To Samdalri.
Backing her up are her two close friends who both keep her in their hearts dearly.
Previously, Sam-dal and Yong-pil’s sea weed fight reached all corners of Samdal-ri. Still, the exact details about the cause of their relationship fallout is vague.
But their conversation affirmed that Yong-pil dumped Sam-dal and not the other way around. Jin-dal’s ex-husband has also reached Jeju for a theme park project.
“In 8 years, I’ve had four different boyfriends and my salary increased ten folds. Guess what happened when you gained more dating experience and money? You change. People change.”
Trying to appease his best friend and ex-lover, he convinces her that she has nothing to be ashamed of.
Responding to his claim that he knows her best, Sam-dal conveyed how the harsh experiences climbing to the top of her profession and the romantic relationships she had realistically changed her as a person.
The next day, a reunion Jin-dal never expected happens when her mom gives her a side job in the nearby town of Nam-dal to help with the road traffic. Her ex-husband visited Nam-dal because of a theme park project that his family’s company is in charge of.
Another unwanted visitor who visited Nam-dal and Sam-dal is Reporter Ahn who feeds strongly on Sam-dal’s power abuse case. He even trespassed to the Cho residence and took pictures of Sam-dal without her permission.
Protecting her, Yong-pil and Sang-do force the reporter to leave. He ends up meeting Kyung-tae and Eun-woo who later realizes what he did to Sam-dal. They destroy his camera and SD card and they end up at the local police station.
Sam-dal learns about what happened to her friends so she intervenes with her story. But confident there is no evidence to prove her claim that Reporter Ahn took her pictures and even the letters on their mailbox, the sly journalist backed down because Sang-do’s car’s dashcam captured everything.
Later, the five friends grab some drinks and look back on their eventful day. Kyung-tae who stood up for Sam-dal against Reporter Ahn continues his display of loyalty as he clarifies what he meant from his words last time.
Kyung-tae tells Sam-dal that they are proud of what she has accomplished so they naturally root for her no matter what.
Before Sang-do passed out, he also confessed to Yong-pil that he did not pursue Sam-dal because of him but he has also liked her for a long time.
“You still know everything about her. You’re still not over her, are you?”
The next day, Yong-pil is the assigned forecaster of Jeju team. His leader reminds him to stick with the data but he stubbornly declares that rain is expected.
Then, he sees Sam-dal from the CCTV capture with Sang-do joining her with an umbrella. He remembers his friend’s drunk confession of how he hated him because he also liked Sam-dal a lot. He runs to where his friends are and brings a separate umbrella for Sam-dal.
Back in Seoul, Sam-dal’s assistants learn that Eun-ju (aka the assistant who claimed she was bullied) apparently steals not just Sam-dal’s ex-boyfriend but her concept.
Upon learning a chance to confront Eun-ju, she goes to meet her and finally asks her if she really pushed her to commit suicide. Hopelessly remorseless, she responds no to Sam-dal’s question.
Finally clearing her conscience, Sam-dal lets go of her concept and ex-boyfriend but leaves Eun-ju one valuable learning to be careful of the repercussions of not living honestly.
The sudden Seoul trip leads to a few realizations. Sang-do confronts Yong-pil if he still has feelings for Sam-dal. The latter is also asked by her mother if she is also not over Yong-pil.
“You and Samdal are my dream. Your dream doesn’t always have to be a job. You two are my dream. Once your dreams come true, mine will as well. Perhaps dreams aren’t supposed to be achieved but protected.”
Welcome To Samdalri Episodes 5 and 6 Musings
Viewers finally get the answer of why Sam-dal chose not to defend herself against her assistant’s power abuse claim in the latest chapters of Welcome to Samdalri.
It was more of her uncertainty that she might have really pushed Eun-ju to do such a thing without her realizing it. This is such an enlightening message to point awareness, especially for people who mentor subordinates.
The words and interactions could be misread and might lead to holding grudges. Unfortunately, humans have more tendencies to root for a successful person going down from the top. A perfect case that was pictured in the series.
Let’s hope Sam-dal follows Yong-pil’s advice to find her dream again.
A love triangle is on the horizon if both Sang-do and Yong-pil decide to give their shots to win Sam-dal’s heart. Hopefully, if one is chosen, it will not be so heartbreaking. True, that Yong-pil has such long history with Sam-dal but the series has also given merits to Sang-do to prove that he is more than worthy enough.
Either way, at the end of Sam-dal’s journey, if she chooses her dream again, we can be happy with all the memories of hanging out with them.
The side stories for Jin-dal and Hae-dal are also shaping up making the narrative even more amusing.
Will the answers to the cliffhanging questions affect the precious friendship of Sam-dal, Yong-pil and Sang-do?
