Sharp Social Commentary
Taxi Driver is well-known for using real-life cases to inspire their storylines, shedding light on important social issues like corruption and abuse of power, and highlighting the struggles of the marginalized in Korean society.
Without giving away too much, Taxi Driver 2 also deals with heavy and real-life topics such as trafficking, scams, and real estate. Watching Kim Do-gi exact revenge can be cathartic for viewers, especially on issues relatable to many of us today.
Cool Cast Camaraderie and Explosive Chemistry
A show is only as good as the relationship between its characters – so it’s no surprise that Taxi Driver 2 has been such a hit.
There’s no end to the camaraderie and chemistry in this Viu Original, especially as Kim Do-gi (Lee Je Hoon) and hacker Ahn Go-eun (Pyo Ye Jin)’s relationship develops, this season seeing them go undercover as newlyweds.
You can’t help but love the well-meaning and inseparable engineering duo Kyung-goo and Park Jin-eon too! Truly #bromancegoals
Brilliant Ensemble Cast
Lee Je Hoon has made an indelible mark in the Korean entertainment scene since his first leading role in indie movie Bleak Night.
Taxi Driver 2 might be the best proof of his versatility, where he stars as an ex-special force turned taxi driver Kim Do-gi, who effortlessly transforms into different characters while undercover. He’s also incredibly dedicated, having gone to action school so he could do the stunts in Taxi Driver himself!
The series also features award-winning veteran actor Kim Eui Sung reprising his role as Rainbow Taxi leader Jang Sung-cheol, along with Pyo Ye Jin as Ahn Go-eun, the IT specialist and hacker of the team.
Delivering comical relief are engineering duo Kyung-goo and Jin-eon, played by Jang Hyuk Jin and Bae Yoo Ram Choi respectively. Shin Jae Ha joins the cast as On Ha-joon, the newest taxi driver on the team.
An Action-Packed Ride
Like its first season, season 2 is packed with intense action sequences, car chases, and fight scenes that’ll keep you on the edge of your seats. Taxi Driver 2 also welcomes martial arts director Yoon Dae-won, who’s previously worked on acclaimed films Hostage and Escape from Mogadishu.
Its stellar cinematography and production design build on to the show’s overall gritty atmosphere, so you can fully immerse yourself in the world of Taxi Driver 2.
