Take a closer look at women’s lives with Korean films this month!
The Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) invites everyone to celebrate International Women’s Day and National Women’s Month through Women’s Lives on Film this March!
KCC, in partnership with SM Cinema and Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is screening three iconic Korean women’s films this month. The first film will be shown on March 17, 7PM at the KCC Building located in Taguig City while the two other films will be shown for free on March 30 and 31 respectively, at 7 PM on both days at SM Cinema Aura Premier.
Presenting Cart (Director Boo Jiyoung, 2014), Kim Minyoung of the Report Card (Director Lee Jaeeun, Lim Jisun, 2022), and Baseball Girl (Director Choi Yuntae, 2020), this specially curated film screening intends to convey the stories of women, of all ages, in our society – their viewpoints, challenges, and triumphs with the intent of bringing gender empowerment and awareness to light.
As KCC Philippines screen three different movies, you may also choose to watch the film which resonated the most with you!
If you are an advocate for women’s rights, Cart is the movie for you! Starring famous actors and actresses like Yum Jung Ah from SKY Castle, Doh Kyung Soo of EXO, and Chun Woo Hee from Be Melodramatic, this 2014 movie portrays the real-life story and struggles of female contract workers.
