No Tail To Tell Episodes 7 and 8 Highlights
“I am not even sure about my financial situation.”
With their clothes covered in soot from the fire, our leads head out to shop. Eun-ho goes on her usual shopping spree from high-end brands. Yet Si-yeol’s wallet might not keep up with her huge shopping cart. By the time Eun-ho finishes shopping, Si-yeol’s card is already drained. He suggests getting a refund, but she keeps cutting off the tags.
Still, being broke is not their only worry. You see, despite saving many children, the spiritual power of the Eight-tailed Fox hasn’t gone up even a bit. So, what is the problem here? Si-yeol suggests they do some volunteer work with a fresh mindset to check whether good deeds actually result in a leap in spiritual power and if Eun-ho can build up the spiritual power on the Eight-Tailed Fox’s behalf.
“How are those humans still so into each other?”
Heading to the nursing home that sponsors Si-yeol’s current team (the one in Korea), our leads help with doing laundry, but the dryer machine breaks down, and they have to hang the clothes manually.
Spotting one elderly couple holding hands, Eun-ho wonders how they can still be in love even after many years have passed. She is curious about dating. But Si-yeol is just as clueless since his girlfriends dumped him for prioritizing his career over them.
Opening up to Si-yeol about how her old friend (Geum-ho) got her life ruined after falling in love with a human, Eun-ho shares that she vowed not to fall for a human or turn into one. But she is now anxious about getting stuck in this human life, sounding hopeless. Si-yeol gives her a pep talk and splashes her with water to cheer her up. Which turns into a water fight, and the blankets get soaked, earning them an earful. Looks like our leads got a sneak peek into romance.
“In my original life and in this one, I can’t seem to give you the life you deserve.”
Running into some friends, Si-yeol is shocked to hear his grandmother is alive and not dead like in his original life. Back then, Si-yeol’s grandmother collapsed during his first season abroad. And by the time people got to her, she was already dead. But in this new life, Si-yeol took better care of his grandmother, going on trips together and visiting her often at the nursing home.
Seeing his grandmother alive and well, Si-yeol gets teary-eyed. And he now deems the switch a blessing in disguise. He can use this chance to catch up on the things he missed out on. And when things return to normal, he will think of those moments as a dream or a unique vacation.
The fact that Si-yeol’s grandmother is alive in this new timeline adds a whole new dimension to the fate switch. And we can’t help but wonder if Si-yeol will hesitate when the time comes and choose this new life with his grandmother and friends.
“Si-yeol, I think I need to date you.”
While at the nursing home, Eun-ho was attacked by an elderly man who tried to choke her, claiming she ruined his life. At first, she was bewildered. But she then recognizes the man’s face and assumes he is one of her former client’s though she doesn’t recall all the details. But she now wonders if the reason she turned into a human was to reflect on the life she has led so far and set the record straight.
Sensing she is down in the dumps, Si-yeol grills meat for Eun-ho and throws her a mini barbecue party. Throughout episode 7, Eun-ho’s heart fluttered at Si-yeol’s sight. And she now asserts he is the only perk of her new human life. Her heart races whenever he is around. So, Eun-ho wants to date him. Do we have a confession here?
“Are you making a move on me right now?”
Si-yeol gets taken aback by the “confession.” Yet in true Eun-ho’s style, she wonders about which clan he descends from and whether he is of noble lineage. She had tried everything that looked even remotely fun except for dating lest she become a human. But now that she is already one, there is no need to hold back anymore. But make no mistake. Eun-ho claims she doesn’t like Si-yeol. It is only because she wants to try out dating, and he is qualified enough to be her boyfriend. Yeah, we totally believe you, Sis.
When he rejects her, Eun-ho threatens not to give Si-yeol his old life back. Not that he budges. And then, she practically forces him to feed her and hold hands.
The next day, our leads are shocked to hear that the elderly man from earlier had passed away. A quick chat with the man’s son jogs Eun-ho’s memory. That man wasn’t her client but a victim whose life was ruined because of the greed of one of Eun-ho’s clients. Offering all the money they have as condolence money to help with the funeral expenses, the Eight-Tailed Fox’s spiritual power goes up by a shred. And it finally clicks for Eun-ho that the way to build up spiritual power is to amend her past misdeeds.
Starting with that elderly man, Eun-ho sets out to rectify the situation. And she scares off the greedy rich man into handing over a fancy building to the elderly man’s family.
“It is obvious that I am special to you, but to me, you are also a pretty special human.”
Since he is broke and unaware when he might return to his old life, Si-yeol decides to play for his current team for now. Also, he needs to keep training and stay in shape, as soccer is the only thing he knows how to do. It is on a different level from playing professionally abroad, and this new reality hits Si-yeol hard. But Eun-ho is excited to watch him score goals and cheers him on in her own way.
After the game, our leads go on their first date. Eun-ho is dressed up, getting Si-yeol enchanted. Though he claims he is uninterested and is only playing along for her sake. Still, Si-yeol gets sad when Eun-ho mentions she will erase his memory after things return to normal. He asks her to leave his memories intact. (Someone is catching feelings here.) But she argues he won’t be able to lead a normal life if he retains those memories. So, that is her last gift to him. But we guess we will have to wait and see if Eun-ho will go through with those words.
No Tail To Tell Episodes 7 and 8 Musings
The more time they spend together, the more our leads grow on each other. They are quickly falling for each other, and it will be hard to say goodbye when the time comes.
Unfortunately, Yoon and Doo-chul have found out that Eun-ho is now human. And they will probably try to get their revenge on her. Making things more complicated, it seems Woo-seok might join the evil squad now that his memories are back. He has been a wild card so far, but he might turn entirely wicked and make things more difficult for our leads.
