Kim Yoo Jung’s Sinister Turn in “Dear X” is a Beautiful Descent into Madness

Kim Yoo Jung is ready to shatter her angelic image with a dark, intoxicating transformation in the upcoming TVING original Dear X.

Dear X unveiled its main poster and trailer, giving viewers a first look at Kim Yoo Jung’s dual-faced character, Baek Ah-jin — a woman who conceals her demonic ambitions beneath an innocent smile.

The series follows Baek Ah-jin’s ruthless journey from despair to dominance, as she manipulates and destroys everyone in her path. Opposite her, Kim Young-dae stars as Yoon Jun-seo, a man who willingly descends into hell to protect the woman he loves. Their twisted connection fuels a suspenseful melodrama of beauty, betrayal, and ruin.

The main poster captures Kim Yoo-jung’s chilling aura — her blank, piercing gaze set against crimson threads forming an ominous X. The haunting tagline, “If this life began in hell, wouldn’t it be better to become a monster yourself?”, hints at her fateful descent into darkness.

Meanwhile, the trailer unfolds like a documentary gone wrong. At first, people recall Baek Ah-jin as “perfect — smart, kind, and lovely.” But the mood turns sharply when a haunting voice declares, “Those who really knew her tell a different story.” A classmate’s trembling accusation — “She’s really vicious” — seals the eerie tone.

As the footage intensifies, glimpses of Kim Yoo-jung’s calculating eyes and manipulative charm reveal a woman willing to wear any mask to get what she wants. Kim Young-dae’s conflicted voiceover — “I thought it was for Ah-jin back then” — deepens the tension, leading to a spine-tingling climax as Ah-jin’s laughter echoes with ambition: “I’ll rise so high no one will ever dare touch me.”

Dear X premieres on TVING on November 6 — a glittering, cruel melodrama that promises to showcase Kim Yoo-jung’s most daring performance yet.
