“Who Knows Your Secret?” To Weave a Healing Comedy with a Canine Twist

A canine-assisted featuring respected veteran actor aims to provide quirky drama experience for fans this month in Who Knows Your Secret?

Who Knows Your Secret? is a heartwarming 12-episode healing comedy with a mix of crime-solving suspense and witty humor. Featuring a star-studded ensemble cast, including veteran actors Lee Soon Jae (Pegasus Market, Again My Life), Kim Yong Geon (Cinderella and the Four Knights, Women in Dignity), Nam Yoon Su (The King’s Affection, Beyond Evil), Ye Soo Jung (One the Woman, Revenant), Park Sung Woong (The Killing Vote, Unlock My Boss), and Yeonwoo (The Golden Spoon), the series blends generational humor, mystery, and heartfelt relationships.

The story follows Lee Soon Jae, a revered senior actor, who, after an unfortunate incident, is labeled as a power-tripping celebrity, tarnishing his well-respected reputation. Disillusioned and seeking refuge, he retreats to an island to take a break from the limelight. Soon, he is joined by his close friends, and fellow senior actors, looking for relaxation. On the island, he encounters Sophie, a former police dog, and soon discovers something extraordinary: Sophie’s barking begins to sound like human language—but only to him. As Soon-jae adjusts to his new life on the island, a mysterious crime disturbs the peaceful community, drawing him into a surprising role as an investigator. Sophie, with her unique abilities, becomes his partner in solving the crime, and they form a quirky yet effective detective duo.

The show takes the audience through the daily interactions and investigations of this unlikely team. Sophie and Soon-jae’s collaboration leads them to uncover strange, unsolved incidents in their quiet island neighborhood. Their investigations are filled with comedic moments and touching scenes, portraying a deepening bond between man and dog as they attempt to restore peace to the island.

Lee Soon Jae’s portrayal of himself in the series has captivated audiences with his authentic and commanding presence. Playing a version of himself, Lee brings his long-celebrated acting skills to the role, balancing humor with emotion. Kim Yong Geon, another industry giant, also portrays a fictionalized version of himself, expressing his enthusiasm for being part of such a unique project. Together with Ye Soo Jung and Im Chae-moo, who is known for his impeccable comedic timing, this “Avengers-style” team of senior actors adds gravitas, depth, and humor to the series. Song Ok Sook, the youngest of the group, also shines in her role, adding a layer of charm to the ensemble.

Aside from the veteran stars, Who Knows Your Secret? also features a strong supporting cast of actors who bring diverse personalities to life. Park Sung Woong, Kim Ji Young, and Lee Soo Kyung impress with their standout performances and uniquely crafted characters, further building anticipation for the drama. The younger generation of actors, including Yeon-woo, Nam Yoon Su, and B1A4’s Gongchan, seamlessly fit into the narrative, injecting fresh energy into the plot and showing excellent chemistry with the veteran cast. Their roles provide a modern twist to the intergenerational storyline, creating dynamic relationships between the old and new.

Written by Byun Sook-kyung and helmed by director Kim Yoo-jin, known for his work on Revenge of Others and The Undateables, Who Knows Your Secret? presents a delightful mix of comedy, mystery, and introspection on human nature. With a narrative that centers around the relationship between people and animals, the drama explores how animals can offer new perspectives on life and help bring out hidden truths.

Who Knows Your Secret? offers a fresh take on crime-solving shows, weaving in heartwarming themes of companionship, healing, and community.
