Strong Girl Nam Soon Series Quick Recap
Kang Nam-soon (Lee Yoo Mi) dreams of going to Korea after realizing her family is there. She is the daughter of Hwang Geum-ju (Kim Jung Eun), a rich woman from Gangnam whose Midas touch led her to amass huge wealth. Sadly, her daughter got lost when her husband brought her to Mongolia when she was a little girl.
In reuniting with her family, Nam-soon was helped by Detective Kang Hee-sik (Ong Seong Wu). Later, she decides to use her immense strength that run from women in her family to do good. She joins Hee-sik in his covert operation of an extremely potent drug marketed with an expensive antidote that would wreak havoc on society.
Gaining the trust of Ryu Shi-oh (Byeon Woo Seok), she obtained essential information for the investigation. Helping the team from behind with valuable intel and support, Geum-ju also helps crack the mafia organization involved.
In an exchange of outsmarting moves, justice and goodness prevail and the ruthless villain meets his demise. However, the mafia syndicate escapes the situation and appears preparing for a future return.
Strong Girl Nam Soon Series Highlights
Excitingly narrated, Strong Girl Nam Soon features heroines having super strength and super riches. Thus, it is also good to note how contention would be not too lopsided and what extent the villain’s desire would go in the story.
Spirited Run
Delightfully addicting, Strong Girl Nam Soon thrived on its bizarre characters and dynamic storytelling.
Admittedly, in the beginning episodes, the scattered out-of-place scenes made the narrative messy. Interestingly, the more details the series unravels, the more these sprinkled fillers make sense.
One-Conflict Focus
Clear with its conflict and resolution, the series did not make unnecessary wrong choices for the characters and stayed true to their motivations as well.
Utilizing one-conflict target evaded expected confusion which does not sit well anymore since the story has scattered fillers highlighting the main characters.
From establishing drugs as the focal problem, Strong Girl Nam Soon steadily resolved that concern while paying attention to closing the stories of the supporting characters.
Strong Girl Nam Soon Series Musings
From its energetic run, Strong Girl Nam Soon kept its entertainment value despite the messy wrap-up. Avid viewers would surely miss the quirky family of Nam-soon.
Interestingly, the Strong Girl series has learned to thrive on scattered messiness that does not go out of place. The same applies to Strong Girl Nam Soon where each character was given shining moments and a distinct identity.
A little gripe is probably us wanting more romantic scenes between Nam-soon and Hee-sik. At least, we are compensated well with the feel-good package of the story. Interestingly, Byeon Woo Seok in all honesty shone a tad bit brighter than our Nam-Sik couple. But that can be credited to his elaborately explained backstory.
Aside from that, women-empowering lessons on pursuing opportunities where one can best utilize her passion and skill were emphasized well in Nam-soon’s story. Later in the series, her grandmother Joong-gan also threw a ruminative thought that while romance can be beautiful if you have a defined purpose in life, you will feel complete.
We foresee another story coming up from the franchise but a “strong man” is likely to take the lead.
