JTBC’s new weekend drama sure knows how to entice viewers by giving proper character and story introductions.
After sharing the official trailer and group poster, Behind Your Touch elaborates on the lead characters in charge of the fun and zest of the narrative.
Behind Your Touch explores a sincere story about a genuine veterinarian who can see the past of animals and people thanks to her psychometry ability. A detective tangles his fate with hers as they solve trivial life-related incidents among peaceful and naive but somehow suspicious villagers of Mujin. Thereafter, they are swept away by a serial murder case and cooperate to decode the town’s cryptic crimes.
The series reunites Han Ji Min with director Kim Suk-yoon (Law School) and writer Lee Nam-kyu (Daily Dose of Sunshine) since working together in The Light In Your Eyes. Director Kim also marks another work with Lee Min Ki after My Liberation Notes. The creative team is also behind the movie franchise Detective K and dramas Awl, Listen To Love, Living Among The Rich and Old Miss Diary.
Han Ji Min’s Clever Comic Timing
Han Ji Min takes on the role of Bong Ye-bun, a veterinarian who accidentally acquired psychometry powers and can see the past of a person or an animal when she touches them.
Affectionate and far-sighted, while experimenting with her abilities, she gets hooked on a hot-blooded detective to solve a mystery case.
Han Ji-min, who has transformed into a warm and eccentric Bong Ye-bun, draws attention to the skillful comic collaboration that she will show with Lee Min Ki.
Captured in Ye-bun’s character stills is how she discovered her unexpected superpower. Han Ji Min describes her character as a person who has a lot of empathy for people and animals. She remarks accepting the role because of her faith in Director Lee.
“I was able to choose with complete trust and reliance. In addition, I wanted to feel the pleasant and warm shooting scene with the old staff from The Light In Your Eyes again. I think it will be a work that gives laughter while adding fantasy and comedy without drama and thrill. I am also presenting raw comedy acting for the first time since my debut, so it would be nice if you could look forward to the comedy ensemble achieved by all the directors, writers, actors, and staff.”
Passionate Detective Lee Min Ki
Lee Min Ki challenges the role of Moon Jang-yeol, a fiery detective who was relegated from Gwangsu University to Mujin, a rural village. He has an extraordinary obsession with case investigation and is a person with overflowing passion and determination.
While dealing with each case by twisting Bong Ye-bun, when a serial murder occurs in Mujin, his ardent detective instincts are properly awakened. He is trying to gain brownie points so he can go back to his old post.
In a town with little to no crime, Jang-yeol discovers hope by cooperating with Ye-bun who can strangely the past of humans and animals. From here, the duo’s chemistry spurs laughter.
The photos released by the production team contain his first day of being transferred to the homicide squad at Mujin Police Station.
He sets out to clear the town of crime with a serious expression, but his expectations are different from realities. Unfazed by violent crimes, he suddenly faces a mental breakdown.
Sharing thoughts about his character and the charming points of the series, Lee Min Ki echoes having the same trust in Director Lee as his co-star.
“I have a lot of trust in Director Kim, who worked with me on the previous film, and the script is very attractive. It was nice to be able to work with Han Ji Min. The fun elements of the genre are colorful, the charm of characters is full of vibrancy, and the story is funny, scary, sad, and intriguing. Please look forward to the cast chemistry.“
Mysterious Convenience Store Part-timer Suho
Rounding up the lead cast is EXO leader Suho who portrays Kim Seon-woo who has an angelic appearance and personality.
One day, Seon-woo suddenly comes down to Mujin and starts working at a convenience store. With a kind smile, he shakes Bong Ye-bun’s heart at once. Expectations are also focused on Suho’s performance in unraveling the mysterious side of his character, who is nice but unfathomable.
In the teaser images of Seon-woo, he is seen coming to Mujin village. His relationship with Ye-bun and Jang-yeol also stimulates interest.
Conveying thoughts about his character and what to expect in Behind Your Touch, Suho also revealed his preparations.
“I really liked Director Kim’s work, so I wanted to work with him. I also wanted to work with senior actors Han Ji Min and Lee Min Ki. It is a drama that mixes various complex genres such as thriller, comedy, and love line. My character has a beautiful appearance and a friendly personality, and is an intriguing person. As a part-timer at a convenience store with a mysterious vibe, I put a lot of thought into acting so that every word of my dialogue could be given meaning.“
