Successfully luring Secretary Tae, Jin Jung engaged in a brawl with her until reaching the rooftop of the building where they met. Stabbing him with the signature drug she has been using, Jin Jung, fortunately, held his ground and was able to capture her before he also lost consciousness.
Meanwhile, Do-hwan who failed to cut a deal with CEO Seo was instead ordered to represent Secretary Tae as her lawyer. Interestingly, Do-hwan tells Secretary Tae not to raise her hopes high because she’s not going to get out. He also warns her that it’s easy for him to order her to be killed because of his connections as a former prosecutor.
“Don’t forget what happened to me. You are looking at your future.”
Jin Jung and his friends reach a deadlock when Joong-do can’t crack the program because of the old algorithm used. So, Jin Jung plans to trace back the investigation to where it started.
Do-hwan and Ji-han are surely in mutual distrust with each other as the latter wonders how the former prosecutor wheeled his father to take a space in their camp.
Analyzing the social media posts of the first victim Park Ye-young led A-ra to discover that there was another man in the victim’s life. This is the same chip that Do-hwan already learned which made him strike a deal with CEO Seo.
To know the identity of Ye-young’s secret man, Jin Jung seeks Jin-cheol who is apparently on the run. Thanks to Eun-ji, they easily learn that Jin-cheol sought the help of a stowaway agency. Easily subduing the stowaway agency’s men, Jin Jung learns that Jin-cheol is working at a salt farm.
Relaying what he told Do-hwan about another person who visited Ye-young the night she was murdered, Jin Jung asked for the black-box memory card which is in Do-hwan’s possession.
CEO Seo visits Prosecutor Kim at the prison and refuses to let him out.
Meanwhile, Ara who picks up an irregularity at the house the murderer of Park Ye-young bought visits the property with Jin Jung. There, they discovered a stash of money hidden in the ceiling.
Jin Jung visits the delivery man who was pinned to be Ye-young’s murderer and bargains for the money they discovered for him to talk.
The delivery man recounts the events of what happened but affirms not seeing the face of the real culprit.
“I told you I would be just like you.”
Jung visits Prosecutor Park and lets him know that he remembers their conversation when he was young. That day, he reckons how he gave him a swordsman collectible card. The prosecutor rides young Jung’s thinking and tells him that he has a sword that can only be used against bad guys.
At present, Jung asks for the missing puzzle pieces and listens to Prosecutor Park’s story of how he crossed paths with CEO Seo. It turns out that the owner of the MP3 player that holds the evidence to pin CEO Seo is Jung’s father, Reporter Jin who gave the intel to Prosecutor Park.
Ara and Jung together with their teamwork to secure evidence to capture Seo Ji-han. Do-hwan who harbors animosity toward the pompous Ji-han willingly gave the memory card of the black box. They also run through the hospital’s ER records on the night of Ye-young’s murder.
Initially, the warrant of arrest was declined but the senior prosecutors pull strings to overturn it. With Ji-han arrested, Jung moves to get CEO Seo. Fate is on his side as he cracked the passcode set by his father through his mom’s tip that it is a family member’s birthday most likely. It turns out that it’s Reporter Jin’s motorcycle Ally’s birthday.
Inside the mp3 player is video footage of CEO Seo murdering someone. Prosecutor Park relents to Jung’s wish that they work on nailing down the seemingly invincible CEO. Urging Jung to visit his mom for her birthday, he relents and leaves Prosecutor Park.
At the hospital, Jung sings a birthday song for his mom delighting fellow patients in the ward.
Just then, he receives a call and rushes to the Civil Affairs office. He finds the lifeless body of Prosecutor Park being prepped to be taken by an ambulance.
Bad Prosecutor Episodes 9 and 10 Musings
Inching closer to the series’ endgame, Bad Prosecutor packed its penultimate week with expected and unexpected plot twists.
We don’t know yet if Prosecutor Park was really intending to sacrifice himself for Jin Jung’s sake. Because the chances of CEO Seo’s unimaginable evilness keep breaking our records so far, thus, we can’t rule out if out of spite, he mindlessly and inadvertently killed Prosecutor Park.
Ahead of the final week, the foundation of the narrative is sturdily established. Meaning Jin Jung would be bent to give his all to defeat CEO Seo. However, this David versus Goliath quest surely needs a believable path to achieve it.
The story has made CEO Seo this unassailable figure and based on the evidence Jung and friends already threw at him, he remains unflinching and enduring.
So, it’s really curious what definitive move to defeat him in the last episodes of the series.
