Carrying the rumors of him being ‘big mouse’, Chang-ho seizes its benefits in the recent episode of Big Mouth.
Unafraid to defy the warden, Chang-ho gains respect from other prisoners and promises to grant wishes as ‘big mouse’. Mi-ho sternly testifies that Chang-ho is not ‘big mouse’ and snoops around for Professor Seo’s thesis at her new workplace. Meanwhile, prison VIPs attempt again to attack Chang-ho.

Big Mouth Episode 3 Highlights
“It doesn’t harm the ocean to throw the net an extra time.”
Sending the order to kill the prisoner who’s trying to escape, the warden withdraws his command as he realizes it was Chang-ho, who is believed to be ‘big mouse’.
Remembering the promised rewards from Gong Ji-hoon for keeping ‘big mouse’ alive, the warden just sends Chang-ho to solitary confinement.
Hired as a nurse in the cancer ward at Gucheon University Hospital, Mi-ho is left to carry out duties alone on her first day, like an initiation.
She manages on her own to save the patient who goes into code blue, but gets reprimanded instead as the patients on the whole 7th floor are patients who refuse to be resuscitated.
Using that information where everyone on the cancer ward floor appears to be asked to sign a DNR, Mi-ho speculates its relations with the thesis of Professor Seo.
Looking disturbed in that discussion, Soon-tae breaks the news to Mi-ho that Chang-ho wants to divorce her for her safety, but she rips the document.
Called again for an assembly, the warden claims he is the law and the messiah in prison that recycles bad people into decent beings.
In that assembly, prisoners are separated by grades, wherein grade A is filled with people with money and connections. On the other hand, lower grades are left to take on duties such as cleaning the sewage water.
“We can live together in the afterlife.”
Using his knowledge of the law, Chang-ho defends one prisoner that is angered by the warden.
Sat down in a conversation, the warden tells Chang-ho how many times he has been saved after several encounters of being harmed. Getting to his point, he demands 5% of the money ‘big mouse’ has from Lala Capital.
The warden continues with how Gong Ji-hoon is the one who strongly believes he is ‘big mouse’, but if he turns out to be untrue, his family could be put in danger with the crucial content on the dashcam.
He warns Chang-ho that people nowadays are capable of making accidents appear as sudden unintended accelerations.
Mustering up his courage and comprehending his situation, Chang-ho decides to claim he is ‘big mouse’, and threatens the warden.
Brought in as a witness, Mi-ho surely contends that Chang-ho is not ‘big mouse’ because she knows her husband well.
Reminiscing her past with him, a flashback when Mi-ho had just broken up is shown. On that snowy day, Chang-ho remained by her side and asked her out, promising that he’ll study for the bar exam and treat her better than her ex.
Crying at a bus stop, Mayor Choi watches Mi-ho from afar. At home, he tells her wife to give up on having a baby. Arriving at the topic of Professor Seo’s paper, Joo-hee tells Mayor Choi that it was just a rumor.
“You need to face reality. There’s no hope for me.”
Angered with the food served to them during lunch, Chang-ho leads a riot against the guards with buckets from their sewage duties.
Embodying he is ‘big mouse’, they protest for better food and prisoners begin to bet on him winning against the warden. Swayed by Chang-ho’s act, the warden grants the lower grade a proper meal.
Mi-ho visits Chang-ho, and she expresses her will to stay with him until the end even though the situation appears to be hopeless.
Asking around the hospital on Professor Seo’s paper, Mi-ho notices how doctors see the professor negatively while patients describe him agreeably.
Called in Doctor Hyun Joo-hee’s office, Mi-ho is asked to resign voluntarily as her husband is Park Chang-ho.
She refuses to resign, and tells about the relation of Professor Seo’s paper with the case her husband was framed in. However, Joo-hee denies the existence of such paper.
On her way out, a guardian of one of the patients on the floor desperately asks Mi-ho for help as they were not allowed to transfer the patient to another hospital. Overhearing that, the head nurse dismisses the guardian as delusional.
“They say in prison, your mouth shrinks and you grow taller.”
Assigning Jerry to spread about his plans on granting the first 50 wishes as ‘big mouse’, Chang-ho only receives three since the offer sounds like a scam.
He then again opens his doors in the chapel’s confessional, and the room leader, No Bak, voices his wish on finding his daughter who disappeared suddenly. Although he does not strongly believe Chang-ho is ‘big mouse’, he takes his chances as the police have already given up on their search.
Next to him is the Psychopath, Tak Kwang-yeon, who wishes for his mother with leukemia to be saved.
Planning to attack Chang-ho again, the prison VIPs bribe the warden to turn a blind eye.
With that, the prisoner who recently attempted to stab Chang-ho suddenly becomes their roommate and acts like he now respects Chang-ho.
Acting on the order of the VIPs, the prisoner who suddenly became their roommate was only a decoy, and Tak Kwang-yeon was the real designated person to attack Chang-ho. Blocking Chang-ho, room leader No Bak gets stabbed.
Big Mouth Episode 3 Musings
Chang-ho takes a big leap in his status in prison as he talks big about being ‘big mouse’. Although this was done for his own survival, it also brings him more danger.
Assigned in the sewage, the prisoners in the lower grade who have no connections or money helplessly accept the duty.
However, through Chang-ho who uses his title as ‘big mouse’ to their advantage, he earns respect by protesting for better food for them. There’s also much respect for the actors in the prison as they intensely go through all the dirt and action scenes.
Wondering who framed him up as ‘big mouse’, there are a lot of questions on the motive of the person that framed Chang-ho and their involvement on Professor Seo’s paper.
It somehow makes you think for the next episodes whether Chang-ho being framed as ‘big mouse’ is to really getaway from punishments or a coverup for a higher purpose.
