Along with the unfurling of its latest poster, Weather People, seals premiere date on February 12.
Weather People chronicles love and office stories of people working at Korea Meteorological Administration. Hotter than tropical nights and more unpredictable than local heavy rains, the released poster acquaints viewers with the lead cast.
Settled inside an elevator, the text on the poster cleverly amuses on hinting how the characters in the picture have dated previously. “The end of dating in the office is not just goodbye” alludes to the interesting romance stories that will unfold in the story.
In the drama, Ha Kyung-jin (Park Min Young), a weather forecaster and Han Ki-joon (Yoon Park) from KMA’s publicity office used to be lovers and were about to get married. This draws one of the gravitating points in the story by presenting how office dating can go cruel especially after a break-up and you can still meet as colleagues.
Office Romance Cruelty
As revealed in the previously released teaser videos, Lee Si-woo (Song Kang), who is in charge of special affairs approaches Ha-kyung with his sweet gaze. Vocally expressing how he keeps liking her, the female lead of Weather People looks to be going to a love predicament. Accepting a new love after losing one in the same workplace heightens interest in the series.
Interestingly, the awkward gaze and uncomfortable atmosphere of co-workers caught between the ex-lovers are the fun of this poster. That includes how all office workers can sympathize with Si-woo.
Eom Dong-han (Lee Seong Wook) is a senior forecaster working with Ha-kyung in Team 2. Shin Seok-ho (Moon Tae Yoo) takes charge of neighborhood forecasting while Oh Myung-joo (Yoon Sa Bong) is in charge of analysis. Next, Kim Su-jin (Chae So Eun) plays a short-term forecaster. Lastly, Chae Yu-jin (Yura) plays a meteorologist specializing in meteorology at a newspaper company.
The production team said, “The Weather People elevator poster depicts the brutality of a love affair. Please look forward to the work and love of the Korea Meteorological Administration people, who fiercely predict and forecast the weather while engaging in exciting romance affairs.”
Weather People is a collaboration among director Cha Young Hoon of When the Camellia Blooms, writer Seon Yeong, and creator Kang Eun Kyung of The World of the Married and Misty fame. The series premieres on February 12 on JTBC.
